Nestled in a valley steeped in history, Quinta do Rabaçal is a farm with roots that date back thousands of years. Once home to a Roman bridge, a corn mill, and a ferry used by "Sardine girls" who walked 50km daily to bring fresh fish across the river, this land is a testament to the enduring beauty of nature and tradition.

The last Portuguese family lived here until 65 years ago, continuing to farm the fertile soil by the river for another 30 years. In 2000, a Dutch family embraced this natural haven and nurtured it for 16 years.

In 2016, we took over and began a passionate journey of restoration and development. After five years of meticulous construction, we have created high-quality facilities that harmonize with the beauty of this protected ecological area.

What We Offer

Four centrally heated houses.

Seven safari-style glamping tents.

Total capacity for 22+ guests, with additional staff accommodation.

A herd of 16 micro goats (plus one pet goat), geese, ducks, chickens, vegetable beds, and river fish.

Coming from a background in sports physiotherapy, training, and nutrition, we are dedicated to health and well-being. For retreats, we prioritize organic, locally sourced food, much of which is grown on-site. Our skilled chefs can create vegan, vegetarian, and locally sourced meat menus tailored to your needs.
