The Quinta (farm) dates back for 1000's of years...lost in time. There was a Roman bridge at the far end of the land now long gone, as well as a corn mill, and a ferry that allowed Sardine girls to bring the fresh fish in clogs over the river from the trains at Carregal (50km a day walking!).
The last original Portuguese family left living here 65 years ago but continued to farm for another 30 years afterwards as the soil is very fertile by the river. In 2000 a Dutch family moved to Rabaçal and for the next 16 years lived in nature developing the Quinta naturally
In 2016 we took over and we have loved working in this very special beautiful site. We completed 5 years of construction renovating the farm with a view to providing high quality facilities in a way that embraces the beauty of this protected ancient ecological area.
Currently we have a herd of 16 micro goats (and one pet goat), geese, ducks, chickens, vegetable beds and fish in the river. The facilities offer a 300m sq excellently equipped do-jo style functional training gym by the river, with a 6m circus rig, a large infinity pool and outside jacuzzi, 4 beautiful central heated houses and 7 luxury glamping safari style tents.

The total capacity includes 42 clients and staff accommodation. Houses can be rented separately too. We also have BBQ areas and a big bar with a fire for drinks on cool nights.
We come from a sports Physiotherapy / training background as well as nutrition. When we run retreats the food is very important to us and we try to grow as much food organically on site as possible as well as locally sourcing from little farmsteads around us. We can provide amazing chef's who can do both vegan, vegetarian, and locally sourced meat menus.
We would love to hear from you if we and our very special environment is of interest to you...your & friends
